What is a medical examination?

Today, there are three types of this medical examination, which is carried out for professions, according to the list of Law No. 280 of July 23, 2002:

  1. Preliminary (primary). It is performed before employment in a specialty that is on the list of professions, in order to determine the absence of any dangerous/infectious diseases (pathologies). A health book is issued.
  2. Periodic (secondary, repeated). For timely detection of occupational diseases, as well as resolving issues of whether the employee can continue working in the existing conditions (harmful, hazardous factors for health). For extension of the medical personal book.
  3. Extraordinary. It is carried out at the request of the employee if his health deteriorates, or he has been diagnosed with an infection (carrier status), as well as at the request of the chief sanitary doctor if the epidemiological situation worsens.

The main goal of this type of medical examination is to prevent the spread of dangerous/infectious diseases and their infection of the population.
