Chest fluorography is a standard diagnostic socially responsible procedure that must be performed by each person annually. Fluorography is performed using a special device that emits X-rays. The results obtained are then used to diagnose various pathologies in the heart, blood vessels, mammary glands, and lungs.

Fluorography. The main goal
This diagnostic procedure will help to promptly detect various diseases developing in the lungs and other nearby organs. When pathologies are detected, the doctor promptly prescribes treatment. The main goal is to identify infectious and serious (for example, tuberculosis) pathologies that pose a threat and danger to others.
Important! Fluorography is done only for people who have reached the age of 15 once a year (not more often) without risk to the health of the person being examined! If signs of tuberculosis are detected – once every six months!
What pathologies can fluorography help detect?
The following diseases can be detected through this diagnostic procedure:
- neoplasms (malignant and benign tumors);
- tuberculosis at an early stage, when symptoms have not yet appeared;
- pneumonia;
- foci of damage to organs, tissues and their structural changes;
- inflammatory processes, if they have spread to large areas;
- various cavities (cyst, cavern, abscess) and what they are filled with (liquid, gas);
- sclerosis, fibrosis;
- presence of foreign objects.
If you have constant shortness of breath, chronic cough, lethargy, you need to get a fluorography urgently!
We go and have a fluorography examination every year. Mostly, of course, in the local clinics. But there is a more profitable and alternative solution – to have a fluorography in Kyiv in the private clinic “Med-Help”.
How is the fluorography procedure performed?
The examination does not require any preparation. You can even have a fluorography done on your way home from work, because it takes very little time – from 5 to 10 minutes.
Stages of fluorography:
- the patient must remove all clothing down to the waist in the room where the examination is being performed;
- go into a special cabin of the fluorographic apparatus;
- listen to the specialist’s instructions, place your chin in a special depression, and take the correct position;
- inhale as much as possible, hold your breath for a few seconds to take the picture;
- get out of the cabin and get dressed.
Contraindications
Absolute: age under 15, bedridden patients (no ability to stay in an upright position), severe respiratory failure, women carrying a child and during lactation (breastfeeding).
