An otolaryngologist (ENT) is a doctor who carries out prevention, treatment and diagnostics of various ear, nose and throat diseases.
An ENT consultation is necessary at the slightest manifestation of at least one of the following symptoms:
- the appearance of pain in the ear, throat or nose;
- hearing impairment;
- the appearance of discharge from the nose or ears;
- formation of plaque on the tonsils;
- the appearance of a sore throat, redness, and sharp pain;
- increased frequency of migraines;
- the appearance of noise in the ears;
- the occurrence of attacks of dizziness;
- loud snoring;
- curvature or damage to the nasal septum.
An otolaryngologist consultation is so valuable in the case of dangerous hematomas, which people involved in sports are susceptible to, as well as in the case of small objects getting into the ENT organs, which children often stuff there during mischief.
An otolaryngologist consultation does not require special preparation, a referral, or test results. You only need to have your passport with you.
An otolaryngologist appointment includes questioning the patient, finding out complaints, and examining the ENT organs using special medical instruments and glasses. If necessary, the doctor can prescribe a number of additional examinations and tests.
