In almost all cases, traveling abroad requires collecting a lot of documents that are required to be submitted to government agencies or institutions of another country. For example, to obtain a visa or find employment abroad, a passport alone will not be enough. It is also necessary to collect all kinds of certificates, in particular medical ones. In addition, in order for all documents to be recognized by the authorities of the host country, they must be legalized accordingly. This means that a medical certificate and any other document must be apostilled if it is necessary to visit a country that is part of the Hague Convention.

What is medical certificate 082 and why is it necessary?

To travel abroad, you may often need a medical certificate indicating the citizen’s health status. The document is issued in the form 082/o. It can be obtained at a state or private clinic after undergoing a full medical examination and taking tests. You must have a passport or other document confirming your identity. The need to obtain a medical certificate 082 is due to the desire of the government of other countries to protect their citizens from mass diseases, so entry into the territory of the state is possible only upon presentation of a legalized document. In accordance with the requirements, in order to obtain the paper, you must undergo an examination by a number of specialists:

  • head of the medical commission – therapist;
  • psychiatrist;
  • narcologist;
  • dentist;
  • dermovenerologist.

In addition, it will be necessary to take some tests, undergo fluorography and other types of examinations. At the same time, the list of specialists and tests may change depending on the purpose of the trip abroad.

Apostille for medical certificate 082 in Ukraine

Legalization of documents for travel abroad is a common procedure. Most often, it is necessary to put an apostille on a medical certificate in the following cases:

  • when applying for a job abroad;
  • for admission to educational institutions of higher education abroad;
  • when opening a visa;
  • registration of a residence permit.

Neglect of such a procedure may result in foreign authorities simply not accepting the document, as it will be considered invalid. It will be problematic to put an apostille on your own, because for this you need to submit a request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and first certify copies of documents with a notary.
